Organization

Eurocer-building is founded in 1994 during a meeting at Dansk Standard, Denmark by certification bodies active in the construction industry in European countries. The construction industry covers the erection of houses/buildings and of civil works. The association is set-up as a non-profit organization of individual bodies under Dutch Law.

Eurocer-building is the European association of third party conformity assessment (certification) bodies active for the construction sector in European countries. It is the only association of certification bodies at the European level active for the construction sector in Europe. The 8 individual members of the association are accredited product certification bodies. Members are relevant, competent, independent and high experienced third party product certification bodies for the construction sector. Their service areas are concentrated but not restricted to Belgium, France, Lithuania, Netherlands, Italy, Portugal and Spain.

The members themselves co-operate with other Certification Bodies, Laboratories and Inspection Bodies. Therefore the network of bodies involved in certification covers most countries in the European Economic Area.

General Assembly
Twice a year a General Assembly meeting is organized. In this meeting the results of active Working Groups is presented, decisions are taken as prepared by the Management Board and managerial items are dealt with such as the Annual Contribution.

The General Assembly is attended by representatives of the members, by observers and by the Secretary General.

Management Board
Three to four times a year a Management Board meeting is held. Actions are initiated and decisions are prepared in these meetings.
